I also had a debate with Dick Masterson, and another fun thing to do is to see "reasonable" fans (not the HARDCORE fanboys) take a step back and sort of second guess their idol when they see them confronted with someone who can actually challenge their ideas. My goal is that someone who's kind of leaning in one direction or the other will hear arguments that will make them stop and think "Oh, well, I guess that's something I hadn't really thought before." I get a ton of testimonials in my e-mail from people who say things like: "Hey! I used to listen to a lot of xyz youtubers because I hated SJWs, but after listening to your views I really do understand way more about where you're coming from and now it's really hard to listen to these guys strawmen people all day, thanks!" Instead, I aim for people who are in the middle or slightly leaning to one side. I also understand that neither party's most dedicated fanbase will change. Going into an argument, I acknowledge that it is incredibly unlikely that neither I nor my opponent will changes positions (though I will, if convinced, and it has happened before). So I have a little meme I call the "40/40/20" rule.
